RECOVERED TRANSMISSIONS - FAQ
1. Where do you source your clothing?
A. Every custom piece started with a reclaimed garment sourced from the streets, charity shops, car boot sales and second hand markets. We actively seek quality clothing that have plenty of life left in them. All items are thoroughly washed and disinfected before reconstruction and customisation begins.
2. Why use second hand clothing?
A. Tonnes of textiles end up in landfill each year. By working with existing garments, we can create something unique while reducing waste and extending the lifespan of quality base pieces.
3. Are your garments eco-friendly?
A. Yes - sustainability is at the heart of Electric Ruin. We prioritise reclaiming and reworking existing clothes rather than producing new ones, helping keep textiles in circulation for longer. Accessories are also made from reclaimed items, as well as residual craft supplies.
4. Will item show signs of a previous life?
A. Potentially - we embrace the character that comes with reclaimed materials, though there willl be no major flaws.
5. Will anyone else own the same piece?
A. No - all items are unique. While some may have similar themes and ideas, all pieces are one of a kind.
6. What size is the garment?
A. We list the size and brand of the original garment. At Electric Ruin we stand by the idea that all our pieces are unisex - to be worn by all kinds of people.
7. Can I request a custom piece?
A. Yes! Get in touch via the contact form with your ideas for a quote.
8. How should I care for my garment?
A. As all pieces feature custom alterations, we would always recommend hand washing in cold water with mild detergent. Do not tumble dry.
9. Do you ship internationally?
A. Yes - shipping will be calculated at checkout.
10. Can I return an item?
A. Yes, if the item is damaged or faulty, not just a change of heart.
11. What is hidden in the static?
A. Usually, a really cool jacket.
