BEHIND THE INTERFERENCE - ABOUT ELECTRIC RUIN
Electric Ruin: Salvaged from the static, built from what remains.
Electric Ruin begins with a simple idea: there is already enough clothing in the world.
Every year huge amounts of perfectly wearable garments are forgotten and abandoned - ending up in landfill long before they've reached the end of their life. We believe those garments deserve a second chance.
That's where the search begins.
We reclaim clothes from the streets, scavenging what we can and also sourcing from charity shops, second hand markets, forgotten wardrobes and anywhere else quality items are overlooked and going to waste. We look for strong materials, interesting details and hidden potential.
Once recovered, each piece is thoroughly washed and disinfected and carefully assessed. Then the creative science begins - reconstruction, repairs, alteration and customisation - all by hand. Garments are completely transformed into something new and no two pieces follow the same path.
By working with existing clothing instead of producing new garments from scratch, Electric Ruin helps keep textiles in circulation and reduces the demand for new resources and fast fashion. It's a creative process rooted in sustainability, but also in individuality.
The result is unique clothing with a history and a future - a story that can't be mass produced. Every piece is one of a kind.
